A woman has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. Desperate to learn about her prognosis, she turns to the Internet, the library, her family or maybe her friends. Most of all, she wants to understand what her physician in saying, wants to ask the right questions. But the sheer volume of information available to her is insurmountable. She doesn't know what to believe or who to trust.

| Now she has a place to go -- The Randalls Community Resource and Conference Center at The Rose. |

The Community Resource and Conference Center is a reality thanks to generous donations from Randalls. In the beautifully decorated resource center amidst the healing sounds of flowing water you can find a full range of educational resources including Internet access, books, videos, CDs, DVDs, pamphlets and realistic models. All of these materials are available free of charge. The Conference Center can host community education classes and is available for conferences, lectures, and other business related events. We are conveniently located halfway between Galveston and downtown Houston on the 2nd floor of The Rose Medical Plaza. Free parking is available immediately in front of our entrance. |

While the Resource Center is becoming fully operational, we are providing links to Web sites that have been reviewed by our certified Oncology nurse and physicians on staff.

The Randalls Community Resource Center has provided some links to internet support groups, chat rooms and message boards. These services and other interactive features offer opportunities for breast cancer survivors and people concerned about them to share knowledge, experiences and other helpful information. Since most "conversations" are public, the experience is best when people follow certain guidelines. Remember that your expression and voice tone are invisible to members, so it's helpful to understand basic online etiquette.
1. Be concise
2. Respect the opinions of others even if you don't agree.
3. Do not "spam" message boards with inappropriate messages like advertisements for medically unproven miracle cures or advertisements to sell products.
4. Decline from using profanity or engaging in any other inappropriate conduct.
5. If you have questions or concerns about the web community guidelines, contact the moderator
