The Rose: Diagnostic Tools
The Rose is proud of having state-of-the-art equipment. We believe this is critical in making accurate and timely diagnoses.
Mammography
The Rose uses Planmed Classic mammogram machines, the LoRad MIV Platinum Mammography Systems, and the
GE, fomerly Instrumentarium Mammography Systems, for mammograms, and Computer Aided Detection systems
to aid in the reading of the mammograms.
Ultrasound
The Rose utilizes the Philips U22 for diagnostic ultrasounds, ultrasound-guided fine needle aspirations and biopsies, ultrasound-guided fine needle biopsies, and ultrasound-guided core biopsies.
SomoVu™ Automated Breast Ultrasound
SomoVu™ Automated Breast Ultrasound by U-Systems methodically scans the entire breast capturing up to 350 ultrasound images that can be rendered and reviewed in 3D. SomoVu™ is an advancement in ultrasound that provides a comfortable, comprehensive 3D scan of the breast.
Stereotactic Biopsy
Stereotactic Biopsies are performed at The Rose's Featherwood location with the

Bone Density Testing
Bone Density testing is performed at the Rose's Featherwood location by using the GE, formerly Lunar Prodigy, Bone Densitometer.

Breast Specific Gamma Imaging
The Rose is one of only 35 centers in the nation to offer one of the most technologically advanced tools for breast cancer detection— Breast-Specific Gamma Imaging (BSGI) with the Dilon 6800. BSGI has been clinically proven to provide clearer images for women with questionable mammograms, assisting doctors in providing more accurate results and quicker answers than with many other types of diagnostic tests.
